January 27, 2009 - Today we lost Bill. As most of you know Bill has been suffering with a rare disease called Shy-Dreger (see the
short definition below). A couple of years ago The Old Farts along with a number of other people who knew Bill gathered to celebrate
the day with him and his family. Below is a link to a video made of that day. Enjoy as you remember Bill.
Shy-Drager syndrome is a degenerative neurological disorder that affects your brain and other parts of your central nervous system. It causes a drop in blood pressure when standing up, bladder dysfunction and other Parkinson's-like symptoms, such as slowness of movement, muscle rigidity and poor balance. Shy-Drager syndrome develops in adulthood, beginning at an average age of 50 years, and is gradually progressive and usually fatal.
